5.47am Thursday 26 November 2015 – happy birthday, Suzy and Stacey

What a powerful programme last night on ABC – HITTING HOME! It made me realise once again how blessed I am to still be here. All I know is that my Guardian Angels watch over me every day – and thankfully have been watching over me for my entire life so far. Thank you, Lord.

The description last night of the perpetrator of the most violent death of his former girlfriend was exactly that of the devil – their faces become distorted when they are demon-possessed and they are unrecognisable as the once-loving and caring person they are in every day life – so shocking and scarey. So sad.

However, the Lord told me this morning we cannot go back to how life used to be – we can only move forward into life the way it is.

Off for my walk now!
Another beautiful warm sunny day in Terrigal – sorry to those of you who are about to hit winter!!!!!

Enjoy your day!

7am Sabbath 21 November 2015 – 4 years ago…

… My Dad passed away. I miss him and mum so much every day.

On this day in 1965 I was confirmed into the Church of England. Little did I know back then how significant this day would become 46 years later.

We are studying Josiah’s Reforms…lesson 8 Amazing Facts

2 Chronicles 33:1-2 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned for fifty-five years in Jerusalem. But he did evil in the sight of the Lord, like the repulsive acts of the pagan nations whom the Lord dispossessed before the sons descendants of Israel.

2 Chronicles 33:10-13 Now the Lord spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they paid no attention. So the Lord brought the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria against them, and they captured Manasseh with hooks through his nose or cheeks and bound him with bronze chains and took him to Babylon. But when he was in distress, he sought the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. When he prayed to Him, He was moved by his entreaty and heard his pleading, and brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.

This story gives us hope…

Psalm 130:1-8 Out of the depths of distress I have cried to You, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications. If You, Lord, should keep an account of our sins and treat us accordingly,O Lord, who could stand before you in judgment and claim innocence? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared and worshiped with submissive wonder. I wait patiently for the Lord, my soul expectantly waits, And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; More than the watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his sins.

2 Kings 21:19-24 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. He also did evil in the sight of the Lord, just as his father Manasseh had done. He walked in all the evil ways that his father had walked; and he served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them; he abandoned the Lord, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord. But the servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house palace. Then the people of the land of Judah killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place.

Habakkuk 1:2-6 O Lord, how long will I call for help And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence!” Yet You do not save. Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? For destruction and violence are before me; Strife continues and contention arises. Therefore, the law is ineffective and ignored And justice is never upheld, For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore, justice becomes perverted. The Lord replied, “Look among the nations! See! Be astonished! Wonder! For I am doing something in your days—You would not believe it if you were told. “For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans who rule in Babylon, That fierce and impetuous nation Who march throughout the earth To take possession of dwelling places that do not belong to them.

2 Kings 20:1, 6 In those days when Sennacherib first invaded Judah Hezekiah became deathly ill. The prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not recover.’” I will add fifteen years to your life and save you and this city Jerusalem from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will protect this city for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.”’”

Dr David DeRose is giving an interesting lesson today at Amazing Facts…

Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus says the Lord, “Let not the one who is wise and skillful boast in his insight; let not the one who is mighty and powerful boast in his strength; let not the one who is rich boast in his temporal satisfactions and earthly abundance; but let the one who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me and acknowledges Me and honors Me as God and recognizes without any doubt, that I am the Lord who practices lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on the earth, for in these things I delight,” says the Lord.

After church, I decided to walk to Terrigal as I was feeling a little sad remembering my Dad’s death four years ago and all the sad shenanigans which some of my family have been causing in those intervening years. Forgiveness I have given but it is hard to forget my Dad’s hard-earned money which has been wasted on solicitors who have achieved very little.

The walk worked! I met a couple of friends and chatted, found a statuesque goanna who was eager to be photographed!…

 12250 steps later I am fine!👌
Terrigal still looks great even when overcast…

6.30am Friday 20 November 2015 – happy birthday, Andrew

I wish my brother a very happy birthday.

Just drinking my morning concoction after cayenne pepper and before Bible reading and tennis. Washing is already done and on the line as they say it will be nearly 40 degrees today – great drying weather! Concoction = water, lemon, turmeric, apple cider vinegar and honey! It is very delicious!…

A couple of scriptures from Joyce Meyer – John 10:10 – one of my favourites and Philippians 3:12…

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained it this goal of being Christlike or have already been made perfect, but I actively press on so that I may take hold of that perfection for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own.

Enjoy your day! Bridge shopping and preparation day for Sabbth tonight! Busy! Busy!

I have this photo of Mum and Dad as my cover photo on my phone – happy memories!

Mid-day Thursday 19 November 2015 – beautiful sunny Terrigal

I have absolutely nothing planned for today! Yehey! However, as I was preparing my guest room for Jennie and Kate I chanced upon a photo album that I had not looked at for a while. On my knees as always I prayed for all my family – the album was full of happy family photos. I am allowing myself to be a little nostalgic today because it is my brother’s 49th birthday tomorrow and he has chosen not to communicate with me since my father’s death four years ago – 21 November  2011. The photos reminded me of happier times when both my mum and dad were alive…

I miss and love my younger siblings.

Sandy, Andrew and our nephew, Simon.
A family farewell many years ago.

I shed a few tears and then put the lid back on the box – as Val advised me to do! Off for my walk… Always a huge help when I become  nostalgic!!!!

The other day I put a SMOKERS PLEASE BINYA BUTTS bin at the roadworks site at the end of Brunswick Road and I promised to clean it out when I walked. I have some time today so I did a Waste Warrior’s walk – later in the day than normal. As I was clearing the SPBB bin one of the workers walked up and said “Thank you for doing that. I am a non-smoker and it is one of my pet hates seeing the butts thoughtlessly discarded.” We had a chat and I moved across to where a smoker was standing directing traffic. I offered him a personal ashtray and he proudly produced one of the labeled Eclipse tins which I had given to the manager, Dave, a couple of days ago!! The label says Bin it! butt it! Got it! He has made sure that all his smoking employees have one in their pockets – yehey!!!!!! As I walked on I met Jennifer at Terrigal beach who thanked me for the great job I was doing. We chatted. I gave her the Eclipse tin idea…she is a smoker and has a hoard of Eclipse tins at home and was wondering what to do with them – yehey!!!!! The starfish story comes to mind. We cannot do it all but we can do something as individuals in this amazingly beautiful world. I recycled a bag of bottles and cans today as well as disposing of …

Some more photos of my beloved brother and sisters…

The Three Sisters – happy days!

…with Mum and Dad in Kathmandu? Or was it Jakarta?!
…with Auntie Kathleen – my mum’s older sister.

The two Andrews – I was so proud of him that day he passed out as a Midshipman from Dartmouth.   The Three Sisters on Plymouth Hoe

Okay! Nostalgia over for today – time to get on with my life and make my mum and dad proud!

Enjoy your day!

It is a perfect day here in Tertigal…

View from BODY FUEL where they are playing all the great hits from the sixties and seventies encouraging the happy memories of course. When I cleared my postbox this morning I found another £25 premium bond which automatically is eventually to be shared by all my grand-nieces and grand-nephews and this beautiful colouring and message from my grand-niece, Eva in UK – again it brought tears of joy to my eyes to remember how blest I am to have such a wonderful family to support me. Thank you, Eva. I love you too…

My sister, Sandy, has grown this beautiful red rose with two more on the way…

Have a great! Gardening now I think!!!

5.15am Monday 16 November 2015 – more rain! Yehey!…

I love the rain. I stayed in all day yesterday and did all my ironing and tidied and scrubbed my living room! I think it is still raining!… I woke up at 4.59am this morning after seeing an amazing rainbow in my dreams with toy animals walking up and down – very colourful and beautiful. I remember explaining to those I was with that, if you believe in an Almighty God then this was a sign that He was with us and happy with what we are doing at this time. I get up and turn on my phone and wifi and read Si’s text…

A big thank you for praying for rain – after this week we are back over half a tank!!

I replied!…

See – it works! I also needed some rain yesterday so I could do all my ironing and some housework to clean up my “messy” house!!!!!! Nearly ready for Matilda to visit again but I still need more rain!!! Love as ever. The kookaburras are laughing. They are happy with the rain too! Love Ali xx

I have to share the Matilda story…

Matilda – my 5-year old grand-niece – came into my home briefly when I was looking after her the other day – before my travels. Her face dropped as she walked in the front door. I asked her what the matter was. She said “it is soooo messy!!” – out of the mouths of babes…! Sad indictment of me as a housekeeper – but I love to be out and about meeting people, exercising and walking. Sorry but MRS PERFECTION – I ain’t!!!!!

I went to my SABBATH school booklet and read the introduction for this week’s study called Josiah’s reforms…

Parents know just how hard it is to see their children, especially when they are older and out of the parents’ control, make choices that they know will hurt them. Of course, this heartache doesn’t apply only to parents and children: Who hasn’t at some point seen friends or relatives or anyone make choices that you knew would be detrimental to them? This is an unfortunate aspect of what it means to have free will. Free will, especially moral free will, means nothing if we don’t have the freedom to make wrong choices. A “free” being who can choose only the right is not truly free or even truly moral.

Thus, much of Scripture is the story of God warning His people about not making wrong choices. This has been a major part of what the book of Jeremiah is about, too: the pleadings of God, who respects free choice and free will, to His chosen nation.

And though, unfortunately, most of the stories are not good, this week we will get to see a glimmer of hope; that is, we see one of the few kings who, using free will, chose to do what “was right in the sight of the Lord.”

…endorsing the rainbow about which I dreamt!
Joyce Meyer this morning is also talking about embracing change in your life. Change your words to change your life!

The rain has abated a little so I now need to walk. I will drop in some ECLIPSE tins to the Site Office for them to give each smoker in their work team. In this rain that is probably more effective than the SMOKERS PLEASE BINYA BUTTS bins!!!

Off for a walk in the drizzle then I will come home and do some more housework before bridge this evening with Trish! Oh and I might go back to do some gym work too after my travelling break.

Busy day but enjoyable. That is what our God wants for us TO ENJOY EVERY DAY LIFE! By the way the app for our Sabbth School lessons is very good and easy to download. I have also got the Joyce Meyer app so that I can listen to her messages whenever I have Internet connection! Easy!

  Have a great day!

11.45am Sunday 15 November 2015 – Terrigal

Thank you, Lord for the rain. At last I have the opportunity to do all my ironing and some housework!!!! Just settling down with a delicious coffee watching the Christmas programme on Songs of Praise from Startford-upon-Avon – a favourite town of mine, especially since I visited there with cousin, Anthony and two visiting French friends. Also my husband’s hometown – well Pebworth nearby actually! They are playing all the great traditional carols – they are beautiful when they come out year after year. I never tire of them…

The children are lovely too…

We had a lovely day at church yesterday too. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of delivering the children’s story – I hope they  – and the church – did too…

The poem by A A Milne called FORGIVEN is also on YouTube as a song called Alexander Beetle…

The blessing wished the world peace this Christmas and now they are finishing with Charles Wesley’s carol HARK THE HERALD ANGELS SING. The Christmas carols always remind me of my great childhood Christmases usually spent with very special English friends, Alan, Audrey, Valerie, Hilary and Barry. Also walking in the snow to the midnight service with my mum – never missed it!

My thoughts and prayers extend to those who did suffer a Black Friday in Paris. Also to their friends and families who are grieving at this time. We are with you, France.

8.00am Sabbath 14 November 2015 – happy birthday, Sue…and Prince Charles of course!

My long-time friend from UK celebrates her birthday today. Happy birthday, Sue! Let’s see if I can find some photos?!…

Playing snowmen in Sue’s back garden!
Love me love my dog, Sali! With Sue and my sister, Sandy outside our family home at 10 Westcote Road, Reading. Designed and built by my brilliant Dad in 1954. Sadly pulled down by developers and now blocks of town houses.

My confirmation on 21 November 1965. 46 years later to the day my Dad passed away.

Tawny Owl’s wedding. Can you spot Sue and me?!

Must get ready now as I am doing the Children’s Story at Church this morning – scarey stuff for a great-auntie!

The story is called FRIENDS, FAMILY and FORGIVENESS!

9.30am Friday 13 November 2015 – Black Friday?! …

Nobody believes in that stuff anymore do they? I am having a great day! This WASTE WARRIOR  was on a mission at 6.30am. I went to the beach, collected some sand, bought two new permanent textas, wrote SMOKERS PLEASE BINYA BUTTS in thick black letters on all four sides of a white ice cream bin – half-filled with sand – and (after playing tennis for an hour!) I presented the bin to the smoker who is on traffic duty at our local roadworks – which is destined to continue for another few months! I picked up the thirty or so butts which were near the spot where they stand to direct traffic and gave the worker his own personal butt bin for his pocket. Then At the suggestion of one of the non-smoking workers I went to the Site Office and spoke with the manager. Great conversation. I said that I was happy to make up as many bins as he needed, suggested that Gosford City Council could give him more personal ashtrays for the workers and he said that he would speak to them all at 6.45am to let them know my concerns. I will be able to check on progress every day as I walk past and empty the bin if necessary! See what I mean? It is a great day!…

Also had a great day yesterday when I drove to the MIELE EXPERIENCE CENTRE at Frenchs Forest where Deborah Hutton spoke  to us about entertaining and signed a copy of her new book ENTERTAINING for each of us. For those women over 50 that need to bring balance back into your life Deborah’s website is an interesting read…

Beautiful day here in Terrigal and my pool is ready for swimming again!!!

6.45am Wednesday 11 November 2015 – Remembrance Day

I have just been out to cut some Rosemary for all those who want some today. I think I will be in Gosford at 11am so I will go to Lone Pine Cenotaph for the service.

Thank you to those who posted these yesterday. We will remember all those who gave their lives so that we might live in security and freedom. Also remembering those loved ones whom we have lost. Lest we forget.
