… My Dad passed away. I miss him and mum so much every day.
On this day in 1965 I was confirmed into the Church of England. Little did I know back then how significant this day would become 46 years later.
We are studying Josiah’s Reforms…lesson 8 Amazing Facts
2 Chronicles 33:1-2 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned for fifty-five years in Jerusalem. But he did evil in the sight of the Lord, like the repulsive acts of the pagan nations whom the Lord dispossessed before the sons descendants of Israel.
2 Chronicles 33:10-13 Now the Lord spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they paid no attention. So the Lord brought the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria against them, and they captured Manasseh with hooks through his nose or cheeks and bound him with bronze chains and took him to Babylon. But when he was in distress, he sought the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. When he prayed to Him, He was moved by his entreaty and heard his pleading, and brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.
This story gives us hope…
Psalm 130:1-8 Out of the depths of distress I have cried to You, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications. If You, Lord, should keep an account of our sins and treat us accordingly,O Lord, who could stand before you in judgment and claim innocence? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared and worshiped with submissive wonder. I wait patiently for the Lord, my soul expectantly waits, And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; More than the watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his sins.
2 Kings 21:19-24 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. He also did evil in the sight of the Lord, just as his father Manasseh had done. He walked in all the evil ways that his father had walked; and he served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them; he abandoned the Lord, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord. But the servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house palace. Then the people of the land of Judah killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place.
Habakkuk 1:2-6 O Lord, how long will I call for help And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence!” Yet You do not save. Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? For destruction and violence are before me; Strife continues and contention arises. Therefore, the law is ineffective and ignored And justice is never upheld, For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore, justice becomes perverted. The Lord replied, “Look among the nations! See! Be astonished! Wonder! For I am doing something in your days—You would not believe it if you were told. “For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans who rule in Babylon, That fierce and impetuous nation Who march throughout the earth To take possession of dwelling places that do not belong to them.
2 Kings 20:1, 6 In those days when Sennacherib first invaded Judah Hezekiah became deathly ill. The prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not recover.’” I will add fifteen years to your life and save you and this city Jerusalem from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will protect this city for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.”’”

Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus says the Lord, “Let not the one who is wise and skillful boast in his insight; let not the one who is mighty and powerful boast in his strength; let not the one who is rich boast in his temporal satisfactions and earthly abundance; but let the one who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me and acknowledges Me and honors Me as God and recognizes without any doubt, that I am the Lord who practices lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on the earth, for in these things I delight,” says the Lord.
After church, I decided to walk to Terrigal as I was feeling a little sad remembering my Dad’s death four years ago and all the sad shenanigans which some of my family have been causing in those intervening years. Forgiveness I have given but it is hard to forget my Dad’s hard-earned money which has been wasted on solicitors who have achieved very little.
The walk worked! I met a couple of friends and chatted, found a statuesque goanna who was eager to be photographed!…
12250 steps later I am fine!👌
Terrigal still looks great even when overcast…
